The Wassa Gold Mine sits within a highly prospective mineralization segment of the Ashanti Gold Belt, with tremendous exploration potential within the mining concession and surrounding areas, which can effectively extend the mine life. The Ashanti Gold Belt strikes from NNE to nearly NS, with an exposed stretch of approximately 250 km in length and a width ranging from 20 km to 50 km. The Wassa mining concession lies on the eastern margin of the southern Ashanti Gold Belt, extending around 70 km along strike, making it one of Ghana’s major gold producers with the largest land holding under mining rights.
